AKC Approval Pending for Garmin Astro DC-30 for Field Events
 At long last, the American Kennel Club seems to be ready to give it's blessing for use of the Garmin Astro DC-30 in field events. The AKC Performance Events Department has made an in-favor recommendation to the board. Is this a good thing? Or are there pitfalls? Read the entire document HERE, then tell us what you think.

I tried 2 of these this past year in real live pheasant conditions in South Dakota, In both cases, the rubber on the antenna came off. The antenna sticks up too high and rubs on fences and brush, thus tearing off the rubber coating. Garmin needs to redesign the antenna and put it in the collar.

It souds like you're using the DC 20 collar. The DC 30 wraps around the dog's neck from underneath. I swapped by 20 for a 30 and got a rebate from Garmin. Don't know if they're still doing it.
